Our cool climate Syrah comes from the coastal hills east of Jenner, just at the fog line (elevation of 1000 feet). Twelve years ago, industry veteran Carolyn Coryelle planted both a meadow and a hillside block; our 2006 vintage is sourced from the rocky hillside. This Northern Rhone style Syrah has an unusually deep color and lush consistency, offering rich aromas of violets and earth. Distinctively earthy with hints of smoky bacon and wild mushroom, the wine features a full middle palate and long finish capped off by a touch of sweet French oak.
