2008 PINOT NOIR
Carneros-Sonoma, Ricci Vineyard
Dale Ricci's Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards are located off of Ramal Road in the Carneros region of Sonoma County. When Tin Barn Vineyards moved into our own winery facility south of the town of Sonoma in 2005, we too were now in the Carneros appellation. We wanted to source some grapes from our new home and what better variety to look for from Carneros than Pinot Noir! Three years later we were able to secure a small volume of Pinot Noir grapes from Dale's vineyard.
The 2008 vintage is our second wine from the Ricci vineyard. A silky, supple Pinot Noir with a hint of smoky earthiness on the nose and lovely dark cherry flavors in the mouth, the wine finishes with a light spice note. This is a classic example of Carneros Pinot. Enjoy!
